Georgian Wine Tastings Held Across Major Supermarket Chains in New York and Connecticut
With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and organized by American partner CORUS SYSTEMS INC., a series of 16 Georgian wine tastings took place in June across eight leading supermarket chains in New York and Connecticut.
At each event, attendees had the opportunity to taste five types of Georgian wine from three different producers. In addition to the tastings, a presentation was delivered about Georgia as the birthplace of wine and its evolution into a modern, dynamic winemaking country.
These consumer-oriented events aim to diversify export markets and promote sales growth for Georgian wine in the United States.
The U.S. is considered a strategic export market for Georgian wine. Since 2013, the National Wine Agency has supported a range of targeted marketing activities that have significantly boosted both brand awareness and export volumes.
As part of its ongoing campaign, the Agency regularly organizes tasting seminars for wine professionals and members of the trade across various U.S. cities. Georgian wines are also featured at international wine exhibitions, and specialized wine tours in Georgia are hosted for media, sommeliers, and sales representatives—initiatives that have played a key role in enhancing understanding and recognition of Georgian wine on the American market.
