Georgian Wine Showcased in Prestigious German Publication Wein+Markt
An article highlighting Georgian wine has been published in Wein+Markt, one of Germany's leading trade magazines for the wine industry, according to the National Wine Agency of Georgia.
Wein+Markt serves as a key information source for professionals in the German wine trade, offering insights into market trends and evolving consumer demands. The inclusion of Georgian wines and winemaking traditions in this respected publication is expected to significantly enhance their visibility in the German market and boost sales.
The article explores the rich culture, ancient traditions, and modern development of Georgia’s winemaking industry. It also features a curated selection of around 50 Georgian wines, chosen through a tasting competition held in Cologne on June 16.
The tasting event, titled "Best of Georgian Wine", was organized with the support of the National Wine Agency and the German marketing agency ff.k Public Relations, in collaboration with Wein+Markt. The professional jury—comprising sommeliers, wine buyers, industry experts, and journalists—blind-tasted 100 wines submitted by 72 Georgian producers. Ultimately, 47 wines from 32 wineries were selected and featured in the magazine.
Germany, Europe’s largest wine importer, has been a strategic market for Georgian wine since 2020. To strengthen Georgia’s export potential and wine branding in the region, the National Wine Agency partnered with ff.k Public Relations in 2021 and continues active cooperation to this day.
This successful feature in Wein+Markt marks another milestone in Georgia’s ongoing campaign to bring its 8,000-year-old winemaking heritage to a global audience.
