With the support of the National Wine Agency and organized by its partner marketing company “Red Bridge,” a presentation of Georgian wine was held in the Japanese city of Fukuoka.
The event was led by Kenichi Ohashi, the only Master of Wine in Japan and director of “Red Bridge.” Ohashi introduced guests to Georgia’s rich winemaking heritage, covering the country’s culture, indigenous grape varieties, and modern winemaking practices. As part of the presentation, eight Georgian wines from various regions were showcased.
The event attracted around 100 guests, including sommeliers, importers, wine buyers, representatives of trade networks, and media professionals.
As a major port and industrial hub, Fukuoka holds strategic significance for expanding the presence of Georgian wine in Japan. Marketing efforts in this region are seen as key to increasing awareness and strengthening Georgia’s position in the Japanese wine market.
The National Wine Agency has been working with “Red Bridge” since 2017 to promote Georgian wine across Japan. Their collaboration includes a range of marketing initiatives aimed at raising the visibility of Georgian wine and driving demand in one of Asia’s most competitive wine markets.
