With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia and the Agency’s contractor company Le Pont Caucasien, Georgian wine was presented in Monaco at the gastronomy and wine festival Salon Monte Carlo Gastronomie.
During the four-day festival, visitors had the opportunity to explore a wide range of wines from 10 Georgian wine companies and small wineries. Georgian wine was presented at the festival by France-based oenologist Ilia Kakhoidze, Head of Le Pont Caucasien.
Thousands of guests attended the 28th edition of the festival, including wine consumers as well as representatives of the commercial and HoReCa sectors, which is particularly important for promoting Georgian wine.
Salon Monte Carlo Gastronomie is one of the most significant events in the region, and participation in the festival contributes to raising awareness of Georgian wine not only in Monaco but also in France.
One of the key priorities of the National Wine Agency is the promotion and increased visibility of Georgian wine on international markets. Since 2013, as part of market diversification efforts, the Agency has been implementing promotional and marketing campaigns in various countries, including winemaking nations such as France, where demand for Georgian wine—especially qvevri wine—continues to grow steadily.
According to data from the first 11 months of the current year, 119,000 bottles of Georgian wine were exported from Georgia to France, representing an 80% increase compared to the same period last year.
