About 4,000 Wine-Growers Delivered Grapes to Wine Companies in Kakheti
About 4,000 grape growers have already delivered grapes in Kakheti region during the vintage 2019.
According to the data of September 14, 12:00 p.m. 37 thousand tons of different grapes have been processed in Kakheti region, including 21 thousand tons of Rkatsiteli, 11 tons of Saperavi, 2,5 thousand tons of Kakhuri Mtsvane and other different varieties.
During the last 24 hours, about 50 wineries processed up to 7,000 tons of grapes in the Kakheti region, indicating that the vintage is inactive phase in Kakheti. More than 50 wineries will be involved in the process of grape processing in different municipalities of Kakheti today.
There are already 220 wine-producing companies registered at the vintage HQ, which will be involved in various stages of the vintage process.
This year about 200-250 thousand tons of grapes are expected to be harvested in the Kakheti region. LEPL National Wine Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia is mobilized to ensure, that growers can deliver grapes in an organized and smooth way.
