New Boulevard of Kobuleti Opened with Investment of ₾8.1 million

The new boulevard of Kobuleti was officially opened yesterday by the head of the government of Adjara, Tornike Rizhvadze, and the minister of regional development and infrastructure of Georgia, Irakli Karseladze.

Within the framework of the "Renewed Regions" program, the rehabilitation and beautification works of the coastal strip in Kobuleti started in the summer of 2021. The cost of the work amounted to 8,100,000 GEL.

According to the project, a boulevard was opened on the 1 km long coastline from Achkva River to Kintrish River. A dividing wall, a bicycle path and a pedestrian path were built along the entire length of the boulevard. Recreational and commercial zones have been arranged near the footpath. Attractions were set up in children's entertainment spaces, and sand volleyball and sand football fields were arranged in the sports area. Adapted sanitary facilities were built in the new boulevard, and a pedestrian bridge was built to connect with the old boulevard.

As reported by the Ministry of Infrastructure, the work of the first stage of the "Renewed Regions" program is at the stage of completion in 63 municipalities of the country. More than 500 buildings and about 80 parks and squares are being rehabilitated. The 4-year program of "Renewed Regions" was launched in 2021 at the initiative of the Prime Minister of Georgia. The benchmark cost of the first stage of the program was 500 million GEL. In some municipalities, the work of the second stage of the program has already started.
