Lithuanian Airline 'Getjet' Resumes Flights from Baltic States to Georgia
Another airline, Getjet, will resume flights from the Baltic states to Georgia.
Lithuanian airline Getjet will operate multiple charter flights from Vilnius and Tallinn to Batumi. According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Baltic countries are one of the important tourist markets for Georgia, and the government is helping to bring more visitors from the Baltic countries to our country.
"We are actively working to increase the awareness of Georgia as a tourist destination in the Baltic states. An increase in the number of direct flights to the main cities of the region will bring more visitors to Georgia, which is important for our tourism sector. Having more direct links with EU countries is one of our priorities", said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
Flights between Vilnius and Batumi from August 1 to August 29, and between Tallinn and Batumi from August 15 to August 29, will be operated every Monday.
It should be noted that 347 percent more visits were made from the Baltic countries in January-June 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. In addition, the increase in visits from Lithuania amounted to 294.6 percent, from Latvia - 375.4 percent, and from Estonia - 438.1 percent.
