Kutaisi International Airport Celebrates 10 Years Anniversary
David the Builder Kutaisi International Airport celebrates 10 years anniversary since its opening.
In 2012, the airport in Kopitnari was completely rehabilitated. The runway, aircraft stands, new terminal and navigation tower were built. Since its launch, Kutaisi International Airport has served up to 4 million passengers and more than 15,000 flights.
"10 years ago, Kutaisi International Airport was added to Georgia, which is the second largest airport in the country with an average annual growth of 30%, and one of the fastest growing in Europe today. We are proud and happy that during these years, through our airport, Georgian citizens were able to have direct flights to different countries in the world. Kutaisi International Airport deservedly earned the name of the country's main air gateway in European countries. This is the airport from which the most direct flights from Georgia to Europe depart. A journey begins with a single step. #FlyfromKutaisi is now launched in Asia and the Middle East and one can discover new adventures.", noted the director of United Airports of Georgia, Tamar Archuadze.
