Georgian Flavors: Introducing Unique Local Dishes to Foreigners

Georgian Flavors is a tourist service founded out of a passion for cooking that offers foreign visitors master classes in Georgian cuisine and pleasant evenings accompanied by wine.

The host of the tourists is Irma Laghadze, who receives the guests in her house in one of the central districts of Tbilisi. As she says, it is the "homely", warm environment that attracts visitors to Georgia.

"I have been holding master classes since 2014, but since March 2022, independently, in my own home. The project is aimed at foreigners and the goal is to popularize Georgian cuisine and raise awareness, because Georgian cuisine is not only khinkali and khachapuri. I offer my guests dishes that can't be tasted at restaurants. I also use our family recipes, which we have been preparing for generations, but with a modern interpretation. I use only Georgian ingredients and prepare seasonal dishes. I do everything to make them have an unforgettable impression,'' says Irma Laghadze at Business Partner.

The cost of master classes in Tbilisi, Imereti, and Kakheti is in the range of €100-130 per person, which is booked mainly through Georgianflavors.com, where interested people can get information about Georgian cuisine.

As for future plans, Georgian Flavors is considering moving to a new space. "It would be best to be outside the city, in a cozy and somewhat rural environment. However, at this stage it is too early, despite my great desire, we need more finances for relocating," says the founder of Georgian Flavors.

Irma Laghadze decided to organize master classes in her home during the pandemic, when she was left without a job, like many people, especially representatives of the tourism sector. She decided to use her free time wisely and studied at the "Adjara Group" culinary academy, where she had classes intensively for almost 10 months and practiced in their restaurants.
