Ethno-villages, Laz fishing Attractions and Other Projects Planned in Highland Adjara
Ethno-villages and Laz fishing attractions will be arranged in highland Adjara.
According to the Department of Tourism of Adjara, various projects are being actively implemented to attract domestic tourists.
"Citizens who come to Adjara have the opportunity to see many sights, taste culinary masterpieces and discover innovations, get to know Adjara better," - said Tamar Kaikatsishvili.
In mountainous Adjara, the infrastructure of Mount Chirukhi is already being developed, mills and an ethno village will be arranged near the Machakhela and Khabelashvili bridges, where there will be a visitor center and all the ancillary buildings, which is typical for the ethno-village.
It is also planned to make a Laz-themed project in the direction of Sarpi, Gonio-Kvariati, which means the restoration of the Laz fisheries and boats project. Work has begun and and by 2021 most of the projects will be completed.
In Shuakhevi municipality, special infrastructure will be arranged for adventure tourism lovers. A walkway will be made to Khikhani Fortress. Routes and paths will be created from Khulo municipality between Shuakhevi and Kobuleti municipalities.
"This year we can not advertise in the international direction, so our main activity is switched to domestic tourism, which involves the development of infrastructure in the most beautiful places of Adjara. We should not forget that Adjara has unique opportunities in autumn as well. I mean protected areas, citrus vintage and I urge everyone to get involved in this beautiful sight that we have in the Black Sea region," the Deputy Chairman of the Adjara Tourism Department told Business Partner.
In addition to the planned projects, there are many places that are very popular among domestic tourists, for example; Batumi Dolphinarium, Ropeway, Mtirala National Park, where there are amusement parks and a rope park, which is a great place for adventure lovers, as well as the Batumi Botanical Garden, Boulevard, Sarpi-Gonio and Kvariati Beach. In highland Adjara, Goderdzi Pass, Beshumi, as well as Green Lake, where picnic zones are arranged, built around the lake.
"Tsitsinatela and miniature park is a good way for entertainers to have fun. Also, the Dendrological Park has been visited by many visitors since the opening day, both visitors and locals. I can tell you for sure that almost everyone who comes to Adjara tries to visit the dendrological park. There are all conditions for these places to host visitors with dignity," said Tamar Kaikatsishvili.
