City Development Prepared Concept for Building Hotel Complex on Shaori Lake

The development of Shaori Resort is planned by Mindia Sabanadze, the founder of IG Development, a managing company of multifunctional shopping centers.

As Sandro Togonidze, director of City Development, a subsidiary of IG Development, told "Business Partner", the development concept of the complex is already ready.

At this stage, the Georgian company selected by the competition is working on a detailed design, which will have a finished look in about 6-8 months. According to Togonidze, a construction permit will be issued after that.

"We should assume that the construction/development of Shaori complex will start in 1 year," Togonidze said.

According to him, the campaign bought a 3 ha plot of land from the National Property Agency in the summer of 2021 through an electronic auction. The construction of a 120-room resort-type hotel complex is planned on the site, where there will be a spa, restaurant, educational space, conference space, etc.

About $20 million will be invested in the project. City Development will complete the development of the territory it owns on Shaor in 2-2.5 years from the start of the project.

"The hotel will meet the standards of international operators. After that, we will decide whether an international brand will enter the management of the hotel or whether we will manage it ourselves," Togonidze said.
