In order to develop tourism, increase economic activities, and create new workplaces for the locals, construction of the village started in Machakhela Valley.
The project aims at preserving the unique cultural and ethnographic values, history, and traditions of the valley.
The project started with the construction works of the information center with modern standards, which will be completed in September of 2021. The information center will include work and exhibition spaces, and a conference hall.
UNDP is working to grant Machakhela Valley the status of protected areas.
