Bakuriani to Host World Ski and Snowboard Championship 2023

The 2023 World Ski and Snowboard Championship will be held in Bakuriani.

The Prime Minister noted that intensive work is underway regarding the championship.

"3 new skating rinks, artificial lakes, etc. will be constructed. A lot of work is being done, which will ultimately let benefit Bakuriani and our population," Irakli Gharibashvili said.

The 2023 World Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Championship will be held in Georgia. The decision was made by the International Ski Federation at a congress in Greece on May 17, 2018. The country submitted an official application for holding the championship in Georgia in April 2017.

According to Irakli Gharibashvili, on February 18-19, 2022 and March 5-6, 2022, Bakuriani will host the stages of the World Cup, which is part of the commitment to the International Federation.
