42° Treasure Hunt Launches Innovative Tourist App in Tbilisi
Guga Abashidze, founder of the startup "42° Treasure Hunt", announced the imminent launch of a new tourist application that will allow visitors to explore Tbilisi through an interactive game. This innovative approach to touring is gaining popularity worldwide, and "42° Treasure Hunt" will feature both free and paid tours.
Abashidze shared that the project began a few months ago with technical and service support from Icelandic company Locatify, and after conducting test tours through their application, "42° Treasure Hunt" will be available in AppStore and GoogleStore from March. Tourists playing the game will complete tasks to reach specific locations, where the application will showcase the history of each place.
While the majority of tours will be free, individuals and guides can create and charge for personalized tours, and various food establishments and shopping centers will offer discounts to visitors. The startup plans to expand to other cities after launching in Tbilisi and will venture into hiking tourism in the future.
"42° Treasure Hunt" currently employs six to seven people, and the startup has partnered with a Sicilian company to purchase a franchise, though Abashidze notes that Locatify will only provide technical support and that the application will operate under the Georgian brand.
