Startup Kikliko Becomes the Winner of the Entrepreneurship World Cup
Entrepreneurship World Cup is an international startup competition in which more than 102,000 startups from 200 countries participate every year. The project helps startups to develop and scale with the help of the global acceleration program.
The competition is co-organized by GEN Georgia, GITA, Ilia State University, Entrepreneurs' Association, The Crossroads and business accelerator "Spark" and in cooperation with Entrepreneur.
The winner of the Entrepreneurship World Cup is KIKLIKO, a sound gif startup, which will participate in the online global startup bootcamp and, if it is in the top 100, will have the opportunity to travel to the finals of the Entrepreneurship World Cup in Saudi Arabia in March 2023. A monetary reward of $1,000,000 has been allocated to the winning startups at this event.
KIKLIKO is a platform that allows us to send voice gifs on social networks. The co-founder of the startup, Salome Merebashvili, notes that winning the Entrepreneurship World Cup is an important way for her team to find new business contacts and opportunities.
"Any win like this is important for a startup like us because it gives us a way to introduce a product that will be useful in their everyday reality to a lot of people. This makes it easier for us to reach millions of people and allow voice gifs and video memes to be used every day with our apps, integrations, or websites.
As for the next steps, we believe that we will definitely complete the Global Startup Bootcamp successfully, as our team has the relevant knowledge, experience, and technological capabilities. In the end, all this, in addition to new experience, will help us to increase the network, which will most likely be reflected in concrete results in the long term, be it: a network of partners, integrations, or new investors", explains Salome Merebashvili.
The Entrepreneurship World Cup was held in Georgia for the third time, and the organizers hope that the event will be bigger every year. The competition among innovators was quite high, therefore, the winning team was identified according to pre-developed criteria.
"We received 150 applications in the competition, from which 8 finalists were selected. We evaluated the participants according to the following criteria: product innovation, development potential, and team qualification. This competition will give the winning startup the opportunity, first of all, to participate in an online startup Bootcamp, in which about 200 countries will be involved if they make it to the top 100, they will be fully funded to participate in the final competition in Saudi Arabia. Here they will have the opportunity to win a final prize of up to a million dollars, meet investors face-to-face and promote their startup on the global market," says Milana Babayan, EWC project manager.
