HappyKids: Revolutionizing Children's Items Marketplace in the Post-Soviet Nations
HappyKids, a Georgian-based startup, is redefining the landscape for children's items with its innovative marketplace. Having operated as a web platform for nine months, HappyKids is already making a significant impact.
The brainchild of this marketplace, Nutsa Gigineishvili, one of the co-founders, shares the principal concept behind its creation. It stems from a belief that entrepreneurs from post-Soviet nations should aim to expand their market reach tenfold.
HappyKids provides an all-encompassing space that benefits both consumers and manufacturers. Consumers enjoy the convenience of shopping for children's items in one location, while manufacturers gain access to a sales channel with unlimited potential.
"Our project targets all countries, excluding Russia, Belarus, and the Baltic nations. HappyKids is currently presented as a fully-functioning web platform, and we're already recording sales. We currently collaborate with 70 Georgian entrepreneurs and are actively communicating with Armenian counterparts, planning to forge partnerships shortly," notes Gigineishvili.
He emphasizes the importance of providing parents with safe, reliable products for their children. To this end, HappyKids ensures rigorous vetting of each item before it's allowed on the platform.
Discussing the financial aspects of their operations, Gigineishvili reveals, "We earn from the entrepreneurs through a 15% commission fee. We've recently received a 150,000 GEL grant from the Innovation and Technology Agency of Georgia. This will help us develop a Merchant Form, streamlining the process for entrepreneurs to upload their products. Our role will be to verify each item, simplifying and speeding up the process."
The grant will also fund marketing initiatives and market research in Armenia. Active for just nine months, this grant marks HappyKids' first investment and reflects the co-founders' combined knowledge and experience.
HappyKids is not just a marketplace; it's a transformative platform that bridges consumers and manufacturers in the children's items sector across the post-Soviet countries.
