Georgian Startup SmartPaw Secures $25,000 Investment from U.S. Angel Investors

Georgian startup SmartPaw, supported by Future Laboratory Ventures, has secured a $25,000 investment from American angel investors Entrepreneur Georgia reports.

“SmartPaw develops innovative technologies and services in the field of pet care,” said Guga Abashidze, founder and managing partner of the company.

“Our service offers responsible pet owners a convenient, subscription-based solution for automated feeding. A consistent feeding schedule is essential for a pet’s health and development, but maintaining one can be challenging for owners. That’s where SmartPaw comes in. Customers pay the same price as they would in stores, but benefit from free, regular deliveries and the SmartPaw Feeder — a device programmed to dispense the exact amount of food at the scheduled time,” he explained.

SmartPaw is part of the Future Laboratory Ventures portfolio — the first licensed venture capital fund in Georgia, focused on supporting early-stage startups. The company met investors during a demo day organized by the fund, where it received positive feedback and quickly secured funding.

SmartPaw is now in discussions with regional venture capital funds to close its first investment round totaling $100,000.

Irakli Kashibadze, Managing Partner at Future Laboratory Ventures, emphasized the significance of the deal:
“SmartPaw’s success proves that Georgian startups can attract international investment and compete on the global stage. Our mission is to support such innovative ventures and contribute to the development of the venture capital ecosystem in Georgia.”

SmartPaw aims to expand into the Caucasus, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, where annual spending on pet care surpassed $1.3 billion last year.
