This is the 20th anniversary of the Tbilisi International Festival of Theater, which would have hosted several actors from different parts of the world and variety of performances. However, due to the pandemic, the festival is held online.
"Theater is not an online art and not a contemporary dance. Theater needs an audience, it is the form of live communication. The play, which will be seen online, will be drastically different from the one seen on site. The audience being in theater is an act of creation. So we hope, that this platform will be helpful only once.
We have several reasons to hold online theater - starting from encouraging people to finish with preserving the continuity of the festival. After many years gone, when we will look through history, we will know, that theater and culture did not have up in the conditions of "war".
