Ariadna Shengelaia to Get a Star of Walk-of-Fame
Soviet Georgia's actress, Ariadna Shengelaia will get the star of walk-of-fame. The event will hold on 13th January, on her birthday. The evening will be hosted by Griboyedov Theatre on 1. The star will be opened in front of the Rustaveli Film Theatre.
Ariadna Shengelaia lives in Tbilisi, but resists public life and has not been in front of the audience since 2007. After 13 years, she will attend her walk-of-fame. The audience will have an opportunity to see fragments from the films and video supported by Georgian National Film Center, which is dedicated to her work.
Despite the fact, that Ariadna Shengelaia is not Georgia-based, Georgian audience knows well her roles. While studying in the institute of Moscow Cinematography, Ariadna Shengelaia was introduced with Georgian film director - Eldar Shengelaia. After their marriage, she started living in Tbilisi, became actress of film studio "Georgian Film", created some memorable characters in Georgian films.
In her work, there are worth mentioning her roles: Tatiana (Yevgeni Onegin, 1958), Eugénie Grandet (Evgeniya Grande, 1960), Manoli (Enguris Napirebze, 1961), Maria (White Caravan, 1964), Vera Sheina (Granatovyy bracelet, 1964), Lota (Jvartsmuli Kundzuli, 1968), Karolina (Stealing the Moon, 1971), etc.
Simultaneously, she was an actress in Griboyedov theatre and taught at Theatre and Film University. "Dramatic art will always win if this kind of talented actress will stand on the stage.", this is how Akaki Khorava estimated her play in the theatre show "Diary of Anne Frank" by Medea Kuchukhidze, which was elaborated in 1964.
