Turtle Lake Slope to Go Green

Tbilisi City Hall municipal service for environment protection has carried out works for restoring green cover of the slope near Turtle Lake. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has planted various herbs and trees jointly with foreign diplomats and vice mayors.

“Green space, resolution of ecological problems is one of the important directions for us. We have already taken specific steps, including for arranging new squares and parks, rehabilitation of the existing parks. At this stage we are carrying out works for greening the slope near Turtle Lake. More than 7 000 trees will be planted jointly with local residents, representatives of the diplomatic corps, young people. We plan to carry out similar projects in various districts of the capital city”, Kakha Kaladze said.

EU Ambassador in Georgia Karl Hartzell has also taken part in the works.
