Turnava: Georgia can Offer Global Companies an Alternative Industrial Platform
The postpandemic era world will not be the same as before, the economy will change, - the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said on the First Channel of Georgia, in the program "Four Business Partners".
According to Natia Turnava, there will be significant geographical shifts.
"The traditional, industrial hubs that were formed before in this or that country will probably change, because the situation has shown that the high concentration of production in one region or one country creates certain risks in case of such a sudden problem and in this case paralysis of the global economy. We already have signs of this and we are in contact with global companies. In this reality, companies are looking for more diversification, moving to different geographical locations to be more insured. We are ready and we are a competitive country to offer them an alternative production platform, ”Natia Turnava said.
The Minister also spoke about Georgia's competitive advantage. It was noted that this is a comfortable role for the country, as Georgia is one of the leading countries in terms of ease of doing business and doing business in recent years and is one of the most transparent business environment.
"It's a merit of our reforms and these reforms will continue. The second thing we will add is to introduce mechanisms that will help start-ups, and we will have the support of international organizations to introduce these mechanisms. We have to show and look for such fields where we will be able to increase production and import with our own resources and create competition for imports, ”Natia Turnava said.
