Tamar Archuadze: Direct Regular Flights will Operate from Kutaisi to 9 Destinations from May

It is possible to get to Europe and now Central Asia from Kutaisi International Airport by direct regular flights. In May, Europe's fastest growing low-cost airline Wizz Air will resume direct flights to Riga, Dortmund, Katowice and Gdansk directly from David the Builder Airport.

The Union of Georgian Airports is negotiating with the airline to renew the existing routes before the pandemic due to the epidemic situation and the flights will be resumed in stages.

On April 18, Wizz Air started resuming regular flights from Kutaisi to Warsaw and Vilnius. Initially, flights were operated once a week, but due to the epidemic situation, the airline has already increased the frequency to Warsaw, and from May 13 from Kutaisi to the Polish capital and vice versa, it is now possible to get twice a week.

"From May 14, Wizz Air will resume regular flights from Kutaisi to Riga, and from May 21 will start regular direct flights to Dortmund. Already at the end of the month from Kutaisi to Poland and vice versa, it will be possible to get to 2 more cities by direct air - from May 29 Katowice and from May 30 Gdansk.

As you know, the new Kazakh low-cost airline FlyArystan has been operating at our airport since May 2, operating direct flights twice a week in three directions. At this stage, in May, there are direct flights from Kutaisi International Airport to 9 destinations in 5 destinations. It is possible that we are constantly working with airlines to increase their existing frequencies and add new destinations while improving the epidemiological situation, ”said Tamar Archuadze at Avianews.

We would like to remind you that a foreign citizen can cross the Georgian air border with a negative answer to the PCR test, or by presenting a document confirming the completion of a full course of covidvaccine (two doses) at the border.
