Several Tens of Companies Refused to Resume Operation after Inspection
We have inspected 40 companies and 14 ones were found with defects, Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava told reporters after the meeting of the Government’s coordination board.
The failed companies were given additional timeframes for removing defects, Natia Turnava said.
"The business sector is getting adapted to the new regulations and guidelines purposefully and very successfully. Together with the Labor Inspection, on April 6-7 we inspected 76 companies all over Georgia, including 40 companies, which were banned to continue operation. They submitted applications for resumption of business operation.
We have approved 26 applications of these 40 companies and 14 companies were found with defects. They were given a certain time to remove the defects. We believe the repeated inspection will show better results and these companies will manage to resume operation.
This process will be continued. We have several priorities, under which several business companies will be inspected earlier. First, this is the supply chain, where business provides services and supplies products to critically important enterprises, be it the food industry, industry of certain materials and medical enterprises and so on. One of the most important criterion is how a company manages to rearrange production and operation”, Natia Turnava noted.
