Products that Georgia Buys and Sells in Armenia

Armenia remains Georgia’s one of biggest trade partners. In January-July 2021, the Georgia-Armenia trade turnover amounted to $398 million. As a result, Armenia ranked 7th among Georgia’s top 7 trade partners.

According to the statistics, Georgia has diversified exports to Armenia. Namely, Georgia has exported products of $126 million to Armenia, including ethyl spirits ranked first with $6.3 million, while in 2020, medications ranked first with $9.5million in total exports of $187 million. By 2019, Armenia was one of the key automobile re-exports markets with $235 million, but in 2020 the automobiles re-exports scales shrank after Armenia tightened regulations.

As for imports, copper ores rank first with $234 million, while the figure amounted to $339 million in 2020. Though, copper ores are re-exported to other countries through Georgian seaports. Therefore, without copper ores, Georgia’s imports from Armenia are much smaller and constitute only $38 million. Armenia’s exports to Georgia without copper and gold ores in 2020 constituted $54 million.
