New Mega Center for Building Materials Opened
"Encouraging local production is a basic of our economic policy, which is especially important in the post-crisis period,''-says Natia Turnava.
Today is a symbolic day for us, as we have overcome the first challenge associated with global pandemics. The government manages challenges of Coronavirus and giving businesses the green light to develop and employ people,''- said the Minister of Economy at the opening event of ''Nova'', building materials mega-market.
As the Minister noted, she is proud that the big shopping center of "Nova" is largely represented by their own, their own production and also Georgian building materials in general, which is almost half of the company's total sales.
The production of "Nova" is supported by the state program "Produce in Georgia". The building materials industry is one of the areas where we can use our own resources to seriously reduce our dependence on imports, supply our own market, and increase export volumes. I can say the same about the food industry, the agricultural processing industry, other industries, but the building materials industry is one of the most distinguished in this regard, "- said the Minister of Economy.
Two new mega center projects for construction and repair materials were implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and TBC Bank. Arranging mega centers cost a total of 3 million GEL.
