Minister of Health Explains Procedures Tourists Visiting Georgia will go through

Ekaterine Tikaradze explained what procedures tourists will have to go through when arriving in Georgia.

As the Minister of Health told reporters after presenting the agency's annual report, without a negative response to the PCR test on Coronavirus, tourists will not be able to enter the country.

"The first requirement we have is that the tourist must have a valid PCR test document stating that he or she isn't infected with Covid-19. For tourists who do not have a document with them, we will provide a PCR test. All this will be done at the airport. If we get a large influx of tourists, we will negotiate with the hotels where the tourists will be accommodated and they will wait for the test results, ”the minister said.

According to her, negotiations on who will pay for these tests are still underway with other states.

Georgia will start receiving international tourists from July 1.
