Mestia City Hall Urges Bitcoin Miners in Chuberi and Khaishi to Shut Down Operations
The City Hall of Mestia has issued an urgent request to Bitcoin mining operators in the communities of Chuberi and Khaishi to shut down their machines due to a critical surge in electricity consumption.
According to Mestia Municipality, electricity demand has skyrocketed in these areas, causing significant strain on local infrastructure. In an effort to prevent transformer overloads, power has already been temporarily disconnected in some regions.
"To the residents of Chuberi and Khaishi: Electricity consumption in these areas has reached alarming levels. The current situation is unsustainable, largely due to unregulated crypto mining activities. We urge mining operators to shut down their Bitcoin machines for the sake of the community," reads the statement released on social media.
City Hall emphasized the need for residents to prioritize the wellbeing of the community over individual interests. "Please consider the needs of your neighbors, relatives, and friends. If this excessive load continues, it will become impossible to ensure a stable electricity supply for everyone," the statement concluded.
