Health Minister: 42% of Population Shows Distrust to COVID Vaccine
42% of our citizens distrust COVID vaccines, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze told reporters based on the Health Ministry study. The Ministry is providing active jobs to lower this figure, Tikaradze noted.
"Around 42% of our citizen's distrust vaccines. We have been providing due job. Naturally, it is important to popularize vaccines. I also believe that that we should trust WHO and WHO-approved reliable vaccine. Consequently, we cannot import vaccine without due creditworthiness”, Ekaterine Tikaradze noted. On January 25, NDI published public survey results, under which 41% of the population has a negative attitude to vaccines, 41% agree to get injected, while 17% have not been determined.
In December, 41% of the respondents gave a positive answer, while the figure was 38% in June. A negative position was demonstrated by 41%, while the figure was 46% in June 2020. According to the NDI study, males proved a higher probability of getting injected compared to women.
