“Starting in 2016, amid the spread of marmorated stinkbug and fungus disease, hazelnuts production started declining (consequently, exports) and the figure dropped to 17,000 tons in 2018. Thanks to the government’s anti-stinkbug program and joint large-scale measures by state offices and farmers, the country has harvested the high-quality hazelnuts in 2020”, the Ministry representatives noted.
