Georgian Parliament Passed the Controversial Law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence"

Today's session, which covered the third and final reading of the bill, focused primarily on technical revisions and grammatical amendments. Despite this, the session was marred by significant disturbances, with the entire discussion lasting only two minutes.

The bill received considerable support, passing with 84 votes in favor and 30 against.

The next step involves sending the bill to President Salome Zurabishvili, who is expected to veto it and return it to Parliament. If the Parliament overrides the veto, the bill will be signed into law by the Speaker of Parliament and will take effect upon publication in the Legislative Gazette.
