Georgian Amelioration to Initiate Infrastructure Projects Worth ₾100.9 Million in 2023

During a meeting of the Agrarian Issues Committee of the Georgian Parliament, Tengiz Nasaridze, General Director of "Georgian Amelioration" LLC, presented the company's 2022 activity report and its action plan for 2023.

The report covered the company's past and upcoming infrastructural measures, the significance of these measures for the development of the agrarian sector, and the challenges faced by the company. Nasaridze highlighted the remarkable progress made in the areas supplied with water and drained land and emphasized that the results are tangible and impressive.

Over the past decade, the area supplied with water has increased from 45,000 hectares to 164,000 hectares, and the area of drained land has expanded from 14,000 to 44,000 hectares.

In 2023, the company is continuing its efforts to improve reclamation infrastructure. Presently, rehabilitation projects worth 61.5 million GEL are underway throughout the country.

The construction-rehabilitation action plan of the company outlines that 52 projects worth a total of 100.9 million GEL will commence this year. The full implementation of these projects will result in the regular irrigation of 14,570 additional agricultural land areas, an improvement in water supply on 22,865 hectares, and an increase in the area of drained land by 905 hectares.

The session of the Agrarian Issues Committee was attended by Giorgi Khanishvili, First Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture, and corporate and operational directors of "Georgian Amelioration" LLC.

Overall, the initiatives undertaken by Georgian Amelioration serve as a significant boost to the country's agricultural sector, allowing for sustainable and efficient use of the country's water resources.
