Georgia has Fewest Flights Among 42 European Countries

Georgia has the lowest number of flights among 42 European countries as of August 14.

avianews.ge publishes Eurocontrol data, according to which the number of flights in Georgia during the 2-week period (from July 31 to August 14) increased by 15% and reached 15 per day (departure-arrival). In Armenia the rate has increased by 143% - to 17 daily flights, in Moldova by 36% - to 34 flights.

As of August 14, the highest number of flights among European countries was performed in Great Britain (3019 flights, + 19% compared to July 31), followed by Germany (3017 flights, + 5%), followed by France (2842, unchanged).

As it is known, the sky of Georgia is closed for regular international flights until October 1. The Civil Aviation Agency has issued another NOTAM, according to which regular air traffic is restricted until September 30. There are only exceptions and regular flights to Tbilisi from Munich, Paris and Riga are allowed.

The sixth postponement of the opening of regular international flights was followed by a large protest on the social network.
