External Merchandise Trade decreased by 16.2 % in January-May 2020

External Merchandise Trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 4 206.2 million in January-May 2020, 16.8 per cent lower year-on-year, National Statistic Office of Georgia (GeoStat) reported.

As stated by the GeoStat, the value of export decreased by 16.2 per cent and amounted to USD 1 235.4 million, while the import decreased by 17.0 per cent and amounted to USD 2 970.8 million.

The trade deficit equaled USD 1 735.4 million and its share in trade turnover constituted 41.3 per cent.
