Electricity Imports Grow by 20%, Exports Decline by 59%

Electricity System Commercial Operator (ESCO) has published a final report for the month of August. According to this report, electricity imports in August made up 119.17 million kw/h and exports constituted 0.08 kw/h.

According to the January-August indicators, imports volume made up 835.19 million kw/h, up 20.5% year on year. At the same time, the exports made up 240.65 million kw/h, down 59.1 million kw/h.

In summer period electricity imports exceeded the exports for the first time. Specialists refer to hydrology, that is, power precipitation, and consequently, lower power generation.
