El Green Announces Electricity Import Tariffs in March
The company El Green published electricity tariffs imported in March of 2021.
According to the high public interest, El Green continues the practice started in January and publishes monthly reports of electricity volumes and tariffs.
As the company declares, in the March of 2021, 603,6 million kWh electricity was imported to the country. Of this, electricity imported from Russia reached 329,3 million kWh, 191,1 million kWh was imported from Azerbaijan, and 83,3 million kWh - from Turkey.
In the period of 1-15 March, Georgia was also working with Azerbaijan and the import was made only from this country. The price of the import, similar to February, was stable at 4,4 cents.
In the same period, imports from Russia were only used to balance Abkhazia's consumption, and the Georgian side (neither ESCO nor the state budget) did not pay for it.
From March 15th, when problems occurred with gas supplies to thermal power plants, Georgia has switched to a parallel regime with Russia and islanding detections with Azerbaijan. The import was made from Russia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey.
On March 16th, despite a major accident on a high-voltage power line to Turkey and delays in imports from Russia that cut off electricity to more than half of the capital and the country's customers, electricity was steadily supplied to Georgia only by customers connected to Azerbaijan's import.
In the period of 15-31 March, the price of Turkey's import amounted to 4,39 cents, while Russia's import was 3,5/3.7/7.8, and the price of Azerbaijani's import - 3.9/3.9/6.5 cents.
The part of the import from Azerbaijan, in particular, 34,4 million kWh was delivered to the customers by El Green.
The company El Green is engaged in cross-border trade of electricity and transits it from Azerbaijan to Turkey via Georgia.
From 2015, El Green imports cheap electricity from Azerbaijan to Georgia.
