Diesel Imports Grow in January-July

As noted by the Union of Oil Products Importers, in July 2020, Georgia imported 110,400 tons of petrol and diesel, up 11,400 tons (up 11.5%) compared to June 2020 (99,000 tons) and up 23,400 tons (up 26.9%) compared to July 2019 (87,000 tons).

In January-July 2020, Georgia imported 608,300 tons of petrol and diesel, up 27,000 tons (up 4.6%) compared to January-July 2019 (581,300 tons).

Including, in July 2020, petrol imports to Georgia made up 51,100 tons, up 8,300 tons compared to June (+20.8%). Diesel imports in July totaled 59,300 tons, up 2,600 tons (+4.6%).

In January-July 2020, petrol imports to Georgia totaled 295,200 tons, down 4,200 tons compared to January-July 2019 (-1.4%). Diesel imports in the same period amounted to 313,100 tons, up 31,200 tons year on year (+11.1%).

As for imports markets, the biggest volume of petrol and diesel was imported from Russia – 212,800 tons (35%). Azerbaijan is second with 114,000 tons (18.7%), Romania – 110,300 tons (18.1%), Turkmenistan – 55,300 tons (9.1%), Bulgaria – 46,900 tons (7.7%), Kazakhstan – 26,200 tons (4.3%), Greece – 25,200 tons (4,1%), Turkey – 9,600 tons (1.6%), Austria – 2,600 tons (0.4%); Singapore – 2,000 tons (0.3%), UAE – 2,000 tons (0,3%), Switzerland – 1,100 tons (0.2%); Hong Kong – 0,300 tons (0.1%).
