Construction of Multifunctional Sports Complex and Swimming Pool Near Completion in Poti

The construction of a multifunctional sports complex and swimming pool is nearing completion in Poti.

The multifunctional sports complex will have a large and a small swimming pool and will include a grandstand designed for 100 spectators.

The complex will also have a sports field with a grandstand for 160 spectators.

A gym, a café, and a dormitory for athletes will also be constructed.

The construction works are being carried out by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia with funding from the European Investment Bank. The project, which is valued at 14.5 million GEL, was initiated in March last year and will be completed this year. Forty-five people are employed in the construction process.

A number of important projects have been implemented in the field of sports infrastructure in Poti Municipality: A rugby base that is in line with European standards has been established, a boxing gym and a handball court have been rehabilitated, and the Poti Football Center has been built. At the moment, the rehabilitation of the Poti Central Stadium is underway. It will be completed by the end of the year.
