Business Yards to be Arranged in Georgia to Change Practice of Timber Production
The National Forest Agency is changing the practice of timber production. Social cuts will be phased out, the agency will organize the production of timber, sorting and storage in the so-called "Business Yards."
Iuri Nozadze, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture spoke about the importance of forest management, including "Business Yards" under the new code, at a meeting with the population in Sagarejo. The event was attended by local self-government representatives.
At the initiative of the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture, a "Business Yard" will be organized in all regions of Georgia. This change will make it easier for residents and the private sector to purchase and transport timber at their preferred time.
Work is underway to arrange a "Business Yard" in almost all regions of Georgia. By the end of the year, a total of 26 "Business Yards" will be arranged across the country.
As a result, in order to make timber resources, forest use will be much more efficient. The negative impact on the forest and illegal logging will be reduced.
