Batumi is Hosting International Berry Forum
On September 14-15, the USAID Agriculture Program in partnership with TBC is hosting the International Berry Forum in Batumi.
The forum provides an opportunity for industry specialists and experts to gather and discuss challenges, which will help to increase the competitiveness of the local berry industry and strengthen the position of Georgia as a berry-producing country.
Local and international experts participating in the forum (from Serbia, Italy, Portugal, and Poland) will share their experience on methods of growing berry crops, discuss modern agro-technologies, problems faced by berry crop producers, and export opportunities of berries.
Also, the marketing tools that can be used to increase the competitiveness of the berry crops sector are discussed. Forum participants will learn about the best financing mechanisms for berry culture and get information on best practices and support.
The representatives of the Ministries of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, donor organizations, and berry producers from different regions of Georgia participate in the forum.
