The world-famous Educational Platform Set to Launch in Georgia

The global educational platform, which is being created in Georgia, will be officially launched on the basis of the world-famous edX.

The Open Edx is created by MIT and Harvard and used by Stanford, Berckley and other leading universities. Edx is developed by Google, IBM, Microsoft and other mega-corporations and has more than 50 million users worldwide.

The new Georgian platform of Open Edx will soon be available to users with Georgian language material. Unlike Edx, the Georgian platform is a wider format and the material placed on it will be presented in the form of video lessons and lectures, readers, presentations, scientific publications and monographs, articles, podcasts and more.

There will be open access to the material and customers will have the opportunity to go through online programs, hybrid programs, self-development programs, programs run by the instructor and/or certification programs in the desired field. The educational material will be created with the full use of the possibilities of classical teaching, as well as modern telecommunication and multimedia technologies.

Both Georgian and foreign scientists, who are directly involved in high-level international research, will present the material on the platform. For this purpose, Georgian scientists working abroad will actively cooperate with the portal. The platform will also use the products already translated and adapted into Georgian by the partners (films, programs, public lectures, etc.), as well as popular science and cognitive literature in various fields, as well as create new target products for different needs and levels of audience.

The Scientific Council of the Georgian Platform of Open Edx will be composed of international top-level scientists who will determine the platform's scientific and educational policy, topics and standards.

The project partners are: University of Business and Technology and BTU AI, Georgian National Museum, Palitra Group and Palitra L Publishing House, Silknet and Silk TV, Georgian Public Broadcaster and others.

"The spread of the Covid-19 pandemic underscores the need for rapid development of the e-learning industry and the University of Business and Technology will implement an important project in this direction. The aim of the project is to create a unified Georgian educational space in the Internet space, which will unite high-quality educational content and will be available to all interested parties. '' - Mikheil Batiashvili, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BTU said.
