The Fine for not Wearing the Face Mask May Be 20 GEL Instead of 50 GEL
Dimitri Khundadze, chairman of the Parliamentary Health Care Committee initiated to impose a fine of 20 GEL on not wearing face mask instead of 50.
"Generally, I think everyone will agree, that the amount of the fine should be enough to achieve the goal. I think 20 GEL would be enough for the amount of public fine. A citizen may have a low income and this fine could become a heavy burden for him/her.", said Dimitri Khundadze.
One of the initiators of imposing fine, Anri Okhanashvili also made a statement and noted, that he is not opposed to imposing a fine of 20 GEL and declared that team will consider this issue expeditiously.
According to him, the fines do not apply to children under the age of 16 as well as to people who cannot wear a face mask due to their health condition.
