Tbilisi City Hall to Spend GEL 7 Million on Curbing Landslip Process along Vashlijvari-Lisi Motorway
Tbilisi City Hall plans to allocate GEL 7 million for curbing the landslip process along the Vashlijvari-Lisi motorway. The city hall has already announced a simplified procurement.
GEL 500,000 will be spent on research-designing works, while the remaining GEL 6.5 million will finance the construction works. According to the document, on March 1 the right side of the Vashlijvari-Lisi motorway revealed a landslip process. Anti-landslip works must be fulfilled to stabilize the zone. The landslip is in progress and has reached a critical verge.
According to preliminary assessments, the landslip processes were activated by natural and technogenic factors. Our key objective is to restore the initial condition of this slope, in the upper part of Machavariani Street, to slow down the active commotion of the landslip zone. We will erect temporary barriers and then we will cut off part of the soil and withdraw it from the zone. Terraces will be arranged in this sector and the slipping slope must be halted through ankers”, Deputy Tbilisi Mayor Irakli Bendeliani said.
