Project ArtBeat: Daily Routine of Georgian Artist Gvantsa Jishkariani During Covid-19

Project ArtBeat is a contemporary art gallery based in Tbilisi. They've decided to ask artists what their daily routine is like during the pandemic and how the respond it creatively. Gallery Artbeat interviewed Georgian artist, Gvantsa Jishkariani.

Gallery Artbeat: Can you tell us about your daily routine during COVID-19?

Gvantsa Jishkariani: I have no routine. I actually never had one. My only routine is that I wake up every day.

Gallery Artbeat: How have the unforeseen circumstances affected/inspired your artistic practice and how have you chosen to respond creatively?

Gvantsa Jishkariani: Many planned journeys, art fairs, and events have canceled/postponed, but for my art practice not much has changed. I was anyway preparing for my solo show where I wanted to make a video where the main character is me and I am doing this video during quarantine anyways. Have more time to skip meetings and don’t waste time and do it whenever I please.

Gallery Artbeat: One habit that you will change after the quarantine?

Gvantsa Jishkariani: Don’t know, I think I was a responsible citizen before corona (like taking care of nature, walking to the most places, etc.) which I’ll do after too.
