New Agency Created by Ministry of Labor, Health and Social defence

Ekaterine Tikaradze, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, presented Director of agency of refugees and ecomigrants, Besarion Simonishvili.

In December 2019, newly created agency aims to implement state policy on refugees and ecomigrants, rehouse them and improve their social-economical circumstances.

"Creating the agency, makes clear once and for all, that caring for citizens, who were forced to leave their houses due to the war and natural disasters, is the main priority for it. This agrees on the fact, that the finances from state budget are increasing annually.

Together with rehousing refugees, the agency will also work on their employment and will implement several aimed projects in this field. 

From 2020, team of the agency will start working more actively, which means, that they will create secure space for every refugee and ecomigrant families, before returning to their houses.", is declared in the statement.
