Mirian Khukhunashvili in the Second Round of Malko Competition for Young Conductors
Georgian conductor Mirian Khukhunaishvili has moved to the second round of the Malko Competition.
It's worth noting that though 24 contestants competed in the first round, including Russian conductors, only 12 contestants advanced to the second round, none of whom were Russian. An article featuring a photo of Mirian Khukhunaishvili with the heading "Goodbye to the Russians" was published on the competition's official website.
The Malko Competition is an international competition for young conductors. It is held by the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, to commemorate its founding conductor, Nicolai Malko.
