Medical Masks to be Produced in Georgia From Tomorrow
Natia Turnava declared on this matter in the government's administration after the meeting with the coordination working group.
"Another meeting is finished. I want to address the plans and missions, what we got from our PM. First of all, as it is already revealed, we implemented the program in Georgia on producing local face masks. The first factory, which started participating in this program, is "Adjara Textile". I will personally visit it tomorrow, to see producing of face masks by myself.", declared Minister of Economy.
Natia Turnava also mentioned, that the program involves nearly 10 sewing factories, also several companies, which export the necessary raw material.
"We have enough reserve on-site, to produce the first series of face masks. The first quantity of face masks will be purchased by the government and thus, it will create the necessary reserve, which will be redistributed on different contingents together with the private sector. It will be reallocated to the ones, who need them most, and have many boundaries with the categories containing risk.", noted Natia Turnava.
Minister of economy stated, that they are producing reusable face masks, which have their own instruction. It is coordinated with National Center for Disease Control and Public Health and leans on the recommendations provided by WHO.
