Liberty and Mac Georgia to Launch Joint Social Project

Today, Memorandum of understanding was formed between Liberty Bank and Mac Georgia (McLain Association for Children), under which Liberty will promote the popularization of projects planned by Mac Georgia and choosing volunteers among the employees of the bank.

Supported by Liberty, Mac Georgia will also launch the project "Visit Me", which enables elderly living in the nursing homes to have regular communication and social interaction with the youth.

The project has been successful and active for almost three years now. Currently, 40 volunteers and 5 nursing homes participate in the project. Within the frameworks of the joint project, 12 employees of Liberty Bank will undergo special training, learn relevant skills, and will participate in the planned events in the future.

"Mac Georgia is glad, that a major representative of banking sector, such as Liberty Bank took the initiative to support the project "Visit Me". A friend gained by the form of Liberty will enable us to visit many more elders living in the nursing homes of Tbilisi and regions. We hope, different representatives of the business sector will be able to promote the development of volunteer-based projects within the frameworks of their social responsibility.", noted Jeremy Gaskill, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mac Georgia.

"Liberty has been supporting the society which needs it the most for many years. We cover the communal taxes of registered 52 nursing homes and boarding houses and they are provided with electricity and heating system throughout the year. We also support them with different activities and try to take care of them.

This joint project too is a continuation of our work and it is pleasing that employees of Liberty expressed their wish to participate in the project. These young people will undergo special training and will become professional volunteers. I am sure, that doing such good activities, having regular communication with grandparents will be beneficial and pleasant for both parties.", noted Giorgi Makaridze, Retail Banking director of Liberty Bank.
