Kitty Lun and how to Build Ideas That Thrive In the Connected World at Ad Black Sea 2019

One of the Women to Watch in Advertising in China, Kitty Lun, Head of Facebook Creative Shop is a guest speaker at the Ad Black Sea 2019 seminar with the topic “Building Ideas That Thrive In the Connected World”.

Born in Hong Kong, Kitty studied advertising at Baptist University, afterwards, she completed her master’s degree at Syracuse University in the state of New York. She was a really rigorous student and was honored with both Alma Maters: 50 distinguished alumni at SU Newhouse School of Communications 50th Anniversary; and 40 distinguished alumni at HKBU Communication School 40th Anniversary.

Hardworking and passionate, Kitty started as a copywriter at Leo Burnett and rose through the creative department ranks, and eventually leading several international agencies. She has also worked for McCann, Euro RSCG, Arnold and Lowe. Her experience in advertising is truly unique: she has a rare talent of creativity combined with management and proved by a participation in many projects in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. 

In the 90’s because she has done a considerable amount of public service in the field of advertising, such as the famous ICAC campaigns and Fight Youth Crime’s “No Take 2” campaign, the industry named her “Queen of Public Service Advertising in Hong Kong”.

As a matter of fact, Kitty was Chairman/CEO at Lowe China, from 2006, till 2016. In 2016, she turned a new page in her career and joined Facebook as Head of Creative Shop, Greater China.

At Lowe, Kitty achieved tremendous business growth and led the agency to become the most awarded agency in China in 2014 and 2015, including the world’s most awarded campaign in 2015. Additionally, according to the Gunn Report the agency’s global rank was #30.

As you may have understood already, Kitty is truly exceptional and has received many awards. Among them, the most famous ones are top 10 Creative Directors of the Year and top 10 Distinguished Advertising Women of the Year. Furthermore, she has received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the New York Festival in 2005 and judged/chaired many award shows in Hong Kong , Taiwan, China, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, the US, Canada, etc.

In 2011, Kitty initiated and hosted the Cannes Lions main stage forum “Beyond Mad Man: Towards Gender Balance in Creative Roles”. She was honoured by AdAge as one of the Women to Watch in Advertising in China in 2013.  Kitty is a two-time Cannes Lion jury for 2015 Cannes Lion Festival Press and 2019 Cannes Glass Lion.

Because her life is so intense and interesting, she decided to write an autobiography that she published in 2013 and named “Advertising Without Lipstick” about her experiences in advertising and in general.

Throughout her life Kitty Lun was working passionately in the advertising world and was climbing her career as a ladder.
