Kakha Kaladze: Waiting Time for Public Transport should be Reduced to 7-15 Minutes
As a result of the arrangement of transport corridors, the waiting time for public transport will be reduced to 7-15 minutes.
Kakha Kaladze said that work on transport policy has begun and concrete steps have already been taken.
"Our task is to move public transport in the capital quickly and to arrange appropriate corridors. This means that all districts should have equal access to public transport, in this case buses. Today, people who use the bus every day have to wait for 30-40 minutes at the stops, which is an inconvenience," the mayor said.
According to him, the process of importing buses continues - we have purchased 12-meter buses and next year it is planned to introduce new 18-meter buses.
The municipality is also announcing a public meeting in the coming days to discuss the issue of transport corridors in detail. The mayor says that Georgian and foreign specialists will take part in it.
According to him, one of the important directions of transport policy is also the purchase of "smart traffic lights". The relevant tender has already been announced and the winning company will be revealed in the near future.
