The coronavirus crisis significantly affected the creative industry of Georgia. Taking into account the current circumstances, the online platform "Challenges of Creative Industries" was created, which already unites more than 400 representatives of this field.
As the authors note, this is the space for representatives of cultural and creative sector, where they have an opportunity to share both specific problems and challenges in general.

Challenges of Creative Industries", they made the research on the influence of COVID-19 on Creative Industries. The goal was to find out what the representatives of this sector may think and, as a result, analyze the situation and elaborate necessary recommendations.
The research was taking place from March 30th to April 28th, in which 81 people were participating.
44.7% of the respondents noted, that coronavirus significantly damaged their activities and they are left without income. 45.7% of questioned people stated, that apart from the income of this industry, they do not have an alternative source. 71.6% of respondents declared, that they had to postpone their activities scheduled in April and June. 46.9% said, that changing the content of their activities now is impossible.
As it was clarified from the questioning, the postponed or cancelled projects include festivals (27,9%), and musicians (14,7%), who are working in bars or clubs, and exhibitions (7,3%).
The solutions for the respondents is perceived as follows:
25% – financial assistance from the state;
21.8% – creating online platforms, where artists will be able to make personal developments at the cost of determined price;
14% – new grant competitions, which are adapted to the current reality.
4,6% - releasing from the fees or rescheduling them.
23% - elaborating a plan for adapting their activities to the current situation;
53% - are not sure about the solution.
The main aim of the online platform is to simplify the communications between the creative industry and other sectors (public, business sectors, startups, media, students), promote informal education in this industry, and create first open online library.
